Support the CHANGE Act Today
More than 6 million people are living with Alzheimer’s disease. In New Jersey over 600,000 people are impacted by Alzheimer’s and it is the 7th leading cause of death.
Every 65 seconds someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Let’s send Congress a letter every 65 seconds to let those affected by the disease know that we will fight until we have a cure.
We need Congress to act on a comprehensive plan to address the Alzheimer’s crisis in America, by increasing funding for Alzheimer’s research in FY 19 and addressing core barriers to care through the recently introduced CHANGE Act.
We have been successful in pushing Congress to act to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease — NIH funding for Alzheimer’s research has quadrupled. That’s because of your advocacy during key moments, like this one. While this is progress, it is not nearly enough.

For many years, I thought about honoring my dad by doing something meaningful to help other families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. That opportunity came about ten years ago when I was asked to join the Alzheimer’s New Jersey® Board of Directors.
A Defining Moment…
Defining moments have lasting importance - they shape who we are and guide what comes next. As we begin 2026, we want to pause and acknowledge one such defining moment in the history of Alzheimer’s New Jersey®.
Managing Caregiver Stress During the Holidays
The expectations and commitments of the holiday season combined with the responsibilities of caregiving can sometimes turn “the most wonderful time of the year” into the exact opposite. Caring for a loved one with dementia means that the holidays may not feel the same as years prior.
