Presented by Karen Z. Kowalski, MPH, OTR, CAPS and Rutgers University Occupational Therapy Doctoral Students
Caring for a loved one with dementia can present unique safety challenges at home, but small environmental changes can make a big difference in reducing risks, supporting independence, and even easing caregiver stress.
Join Alzheimer’s New Jersey® along with Karen Kowalski, MPH, OTR, CAPS and Rutgers Occupational Therapy Doctoral Students for a presentation exploring ways to create a safer and more supportive home environment for aging in place. This webinar will discuss safety modifications in various areas of the home, including the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living spaces, and entryways, with discussion of both simple adaptations and more extensive home renovations that can improve safety, independence, and quality of life when caring for an individual with dementia.
