On Wednesday, June 12, Alzheimer’s New Jersey® and the Northern Regional Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s Planning Committee held a kick-off event at CareOne at The Cupola in Paramus, New Jersey. This year, the Northern Regional “Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s®” will be held at Bergen Community College on October 27, 2019. This walk has been held for the past 17 years, and last year alone, 110 teams raised over $185,000. Alzheimer’s New Jersey, the independent, Garden State non-profit providing continuous hope and support for those battling Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in New Jersey, hopes to exceed last year’s Northern Regional Walk totals with a fundraising goal of $195,000 for 2019. 100% of the funds raised will benefit New Jersey families. To register for the walk, please visit www.alznj.org.

Funds raised through the Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s, comprised of 5 regional walks, will support programs such as care consultations, family support groups, the Alzheimer’s New Jersey Helpline, the Respite Care and Wellness Program, the Always Safe® initiative and the Clinical Trial Connections® program. Revenue generated by the walks is crucial in the mission of Alzheimer’s New Jersey to provide programs and community partnerships that increase awareness and support the needs of the 600,000 New Jersey residents impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
