Presented by Lauren E. Parks-McGill MSW, LSW, APHSW-C

Palliative Care Social Worker from Hackensack Meridian Health

Familiar traditions and gatherings during the holidays can bring joy and connection. When caring for someone with dementia, you may find yourself grieving the loss of who your loved one once was, their role in your holiday traditions and what may come next, even though that person is still with you. This upcoming guest speaker webinar will explore this experience of anticipatory grief among caregivers of individuals living with dementia, with particular attention to the holiday season.

Lauren will discuss how complex emotions accompanying anticipatory grief are a natural part of the caregiving experience and explore compassionate strategies for navigating them. Lauren will share strategies such as making space for grief, adjusting expectations, seeking support, and finding meaningful ways to foster connection and create moments of presence during the holidays.
