Alzheimer’s New Jersey® In The Media

These past several weeks have been busy for Alzheimer New Jersey’s Russell Rothman, Board Chair; Ken Zaentz, President and CEO and Julie Schuldner, Vice President, Development and Communications.  Making the rounds on TV and radio, Rothman, Zaentz and Schuldner have been raising awareness about the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on New Jersey families, increasing knowledge about Alzheimer’s and letting people know that if they are facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s they need not do so alone as there is help and support available through Alzheimer’s New Jersey.

Alzheimer’s not only impacts the person who has the disease, but can be overwhelming for family members who often provide round the clock care.  The challenges of caregiving can lead to stress and other health issues for the caregiver.  Many of ALZNJ’s programs focus on supporting the caregiver.  ALZNJ’s HelplineRespite Care and Wellness ProgramFamily Support Groups and comprehensive Community Education programs are some of the resources that provide caregivers with the necessary tools to manage the emotional and physical challenges of caregiving. “We want caregivers to know that they’re not alone, that there is a place to turn to for information and support,” said Zaentz.

Zaentz, Schuldner and Rothman are also promoting ALZNJ’s Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s® fundraising events – the final walk of the this year to be held on October 30th at Bergen Community College in Paramus. “The unique thing about our walks is that 100% of the dollars that we raise support people in New Jersey who are impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia,” said Rothman. It’s not too late to register for or donate to the Paramus walk, so rally your teams and get walking!
