Early-stage is the early part of Alzheimer’s when problems with memory, thinking and concentration may begin to appear in a doctor’s interview or medical tests. Individuals in the early-stage typically need minimal assistance with simple daily routines.

The Chapter is developing additional programs & services to meet the needs of individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer's and their families:

  • Find support: The Chapter has started to offer "Living with Early Stage Dementia" workshops for people in the early stages of dementia and their caregivers. Call 800-883-1180 for more information on these workshops.
  • Sign up for Memory Walk: Walk with your family and friends to help raise money for the Chapter.
  • Participate in Clinical Studies: Review the current list of local trials in our newsletter, talk with your doctor and call 800-883-1180 for more information.
  • Advocate: Speak to others about the issues you face. Become an advocate and make an impact - you can talk to legislators about your personal experiences and the need to increase funding and awareness to support families affected by Alzheimer's.

A diagnosis of Alzheimer's doesn't mean you stop taking part in life. Keep doing the things you enjoy & find comfort in your family and friends. Plan for your future. And consider getting inolved with the Alzheimer's Association and our mission.
